Typewritten and bound transcript of an interview conducted by David J. Whittaker for the James Moyle Oral History Program and for the European Latter-day Saints Oral History Project at Brigham Young University. Tyrrell talks about his career as a mechanic, his experiences in the Mormon Church, his life in Cambridge and Ely, England, and his friendship with the Mormon Apostle, Hugh B. Brown, during World War I.

Brown, Hugh B., 1883-1975

Hugh B. Brown was born 24 Oct. 1883 in Granger, Utah. He served an LDS mission to the British Isles, and later served as president of the British Mission. After successful careers in law and oil development, he became the Assistant to the Quorum of the Twelve in 1953. On 10 April 1958, he was sustained as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve, and three years later, as a counselor in the First Presidency. He served as a counselor to President David O.
